Who we are. This website is operated by Adam Young Painting & Decorating, a sole trader based in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. You can contact us at [email protected] or on 07412 610379.

What we collect

When you use the contact form, call or email, we collect the details you give us: typically your name, phone number, email address, location and information about the work you want done. We use this only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a visit, prepare a quote and carry out any work you ask us to do.

How enquiries are handled

Contact form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our website hosting provider, and forwarded to us by email. We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and, if you become a customer, for our business records. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing.

Visitor statistics

With your permission we count visits using a simple tool run by Swanswater, the company that builds and hosts this site for Adam, so we can see which pages are read, how long for, and whether the site works well on different phones and browsers. It runs only if you say yes on the bar that appears on your first visit, and you can change your mind here at any time.

If you say yes, the counter stores a random identifier in your browser so that return visits can be counted, and it records the type of device, screen size, language and time zone, which pages you view, how far you scroll, any phone number or email link you tap, whether you start or send the contact form, and any text you copy from a page. It does not record your name, and nothing is shared with advertisers. The data goes to Swanswater, which processes it for Adam Young Painting & Decorating. If you say no, the identifier is removed from your browser and nothing further is recorded. If your browser is set to block scripts or site storage, the counter does not run at all.

Cookies and third-party content

This website does not set cookies and carries no advertising. The only thing stored in your browser without asking is your yes or no answer to the visitor counter, so that we do not ask again. Links to our Facebook page open Facebook itself in a new tab; nothing from Facebook is loaded on this site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. To do so, email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
